Born and raised in San Antonio, Texas, Dr. Ian Thompson III has called San Antonio home for most of his life. A graduate of Keystone school, he completed his undergraduate studies at Texas A&M University and then returned to San Antonio for medical school at The University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio (UT Health San Antonio). He completed his general surgery and urologic surgery training at Vanderbilt University in Nashville, TN and then returned to San Antonio to complete a fellowship in urologic oncology at UT Health San Antonio, where he then accepted a faculty position as Assistant Professor in Urologic Oncology. Thompson moved on to open a private practice where his primary focus was providing compassionate, quality care to all of his patients. In 2016, Thompson joined CHRISTUS Santa Rosa Hospital – Medical Center (CSRH – MC) as its Associate Chief Medical Officer.
