About

Xiaohong (Violet) Xu is an assistant professor of management in the Carlos Alvarez College of Business at The University of Texas at San Antonio. She joined the UTSA faculty in 2021 after spending four years as an assistant professor of psychology at Old Dominion University. She received her Ph.D. in industrial/organizational psychology at Texas A&M University.

Her primary research interests include job attitudes, team, leadership and occupational health. She has used a wide variety of research designs to investigate these topics, including primary research designs (e.g., interviews, longitudinal and cross-sectional surveys), and secondary research designs (e.g., meta-analysis), and most of them involve advanced statistical techniques (e.g., mixture modeling, multilevel modeling, latent change score analysis, and social network analysis). Her work has appeared in journals such as Journal of Applied Psychology, Journal of Management, Journal of Organizational Behavior and Journal of Occupational Health Psychology among others.
